Projected college major: Undecided
Bowling hand: Right
GPA/ACT:   3.695 (year to date) 3.455 (cumulative)

High School goals:   I strive to do my very best in class and attend extra study sessions because I believe quality work is important in order to achieve good grades.  This also applies to sports where you put in hard work to achieve your goals.

Other interests/activities besides bowling?  I enjoy college sports (football & basketball) as well as major league baseball.  I enjoy reading sports articles. I played baseball up thru 8th grade; was involved in soccer and basketball in my grammar school.

What kind of college are you looking for?  I am open-minded to where I attend, as long as I have the resources to succeed in accomplishing my goals.

College goals?  I am still undecided as far as my major.  I would like to continue with bowling beyond college; however I believe it is important to have a career plan for the future.

High school bowling awards:  I have only been bowling since my freshman year.  I participated in a few games my first year on JV; however worked with a personal coach and started on varsity my sophomore year.  Since then I have:
•Qualified for the state tournament as an individual in 2016 (was only the 2nd player in school history to go).  Finished 40th.
•Set four new school records during the 2015-16 season:
3 game high series – 767
6 game high series – 1387
12 game series 2615 (State)
Tied record for highest game – 289

•Set new school record during the 2016-17 season with high average of 209.

Other bowling tournament awards:   I participated in a Sunday winter league in 2015 in which I placed 4th as an individual. This was a 3-man team league thru a local bowling alley; however was sanctioned by USBC and I did earn scholarship funds.

Additional comments:  I work diligently with a personal coach, spending weekends and summers in the bowling alley.  I believe hard work pays off and I proved that by making it to state this year.  I plan to be there next year too.

Comment from high school coach about you:
“Sean Murray is the best bowler we have ever had at Stagg.  He is a respectful, coachable, and hard-working young man.  I haven’t met another player that puts in the time like Sean does.” -  Nick Jelcic, Varsity Boys Bowling Coach – Stagg High School.  (njelcic@d230.org)
