Name:  Sydney Drew Gill
High school: Streator Township High School
Projected college major: Sports Medicine
Bowling hand: Right
High School graduation year: 2017

College: St. Xavier University

High School goals:  To complete high school with the maximum  number of dual credit classes completed and maintain my current 3.68 GPA or higher.

Other interests/activities besides bowling? I love being outdoors and camping with my family.  When I am not bowling I am working at the bowling alley, babysitting family friends kids, fishing, boating, watching bowling on television, or hanging out with family.

What kind of college are you looking for?  The college I feel would be the best fit for me would have a strong academic program, I am somewhat undecided but leaning toward criminal justice, and must have a bowling program.  I would like to continue my bowling career at the college level.  It is important to me to be an active part of a bowling program. I will strive to be the best I can.

College goals?  My college goals are to achieve my career degree with a high GPA while also being an important contributor to the bowling team.  Bowling is my life but my academics also come first.

Comments from coach: "The best way I can describe Sydney is Coachable!  I have had the pleasure of working with Sydney for about a year.    We have begun her training on what it takes to be a College Athlete.  We are preparing her for the more challenging world that College Bowling offers.  She has done well though her Junior and High School Bowling Programs and is ready for the next step in becoming a College Athlete!  She holds the Streator Twp. High School records in game, series, and average.   I think that confirms the fact that she is ready to become a College Athlete.

We have been working on the physical and mental aspect of the game in preparation of the more demanding environment of College Bowling.  Sydney has learned how to practice and is making wonderful progress.  She is building an understanding of the difference in practicing the physical and mental aspect and how it effects her practice of lane play.  Sydney is very determined and does not like to fail.  Which brings out her only weakness...emotion.  She can be a little emotional and we are working on that too.  We are building her confidence through her better understanding of the Sport of Bowling.  It has been a pleasure watching her accomplish her goals.

I have the utmost confidence that Sydney Gill will be ready for the challenges of College Bowling by the end of her Senior year if she continues to improve at her current rate.  Sydney is a pleasure to work with and I am looking forward to seeing her become a College Athlete!"  -Tim Pallai, The Strike Zone Inc.
